Thaddeus Strassberger (director and set design), recent debuted with the Washington National Opera with his production of Thomas' Hamlet, conducted by Placido Domingo and Patrick Fournillier. Recently he directed Le nozze di Figaro (Norwegian National Opera) and New York’s first fully staged production of Meyerbeer’s Les Huguenots in nearly a century (Bard Summerscape). Other production include: Orfeo ed Euridice (Augsburg), La fanciulla del West (L'Opera de Montreal), Aida (Kansas City), The Magic Flute (Arizona Opera), and Ariadne auf Naxos (Wolftrap).

Upcoming productions include Turandot (Theater Augsburg), Fidelio (Opera Boston), The Rape of Lucretia (Norwegian National Opera), and La fanciulla del West (Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck, Austria). His production of La Gazzetta (Rossini in Wildbad Festival) was nominated for Opernewelt’s Production and Director of the Year, while his La Cenerentola (Opera Ireland/ Staatstheater Wiesbaden) won him first-place in the 2005 European Opera Directing Prize competition. As a Fulbright Fellow in 2001, he completed the Corso di Specializzazione per Scenografi Realizzatori at Teatro alla Scala in Milan. He graduated from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in 1998.
